Who are we

We are a small family business, based on the South Coast of England in a village called Warsash where the idyllic River Hamble meets The Solent. Some say its home of some of the best sailing grounds in The UK. As boat owners, with over 60 years of boating experience between the two owners, with thousands of hours on the water and a vast network of industry professionals behind us, we offer a friendly, personal, professional & knowledgeable service.

We operate a lean business model

So we know we are exceptionally competitive for both your training and brokerage requirements.

We pride ourselves in putting your boating interest first – whether you are brand new to boating or an old hand, with an emphasis on Safety at Sea.

Based on our passion for sailing (both power & sail)

As boat owners ourselves for the past 25 years we know what an excellent service is, but what a poor service feels like, having experienced both over the years. Excellent service is our mantra.

So we know what actually works for you & your boating needs.

With this passion for safety at sea (as well as fun) in mind, we started TMS in 2004 as an accredited RYA Training Center specialising in First Aid, Sea Survival & ISAF Off Shore training for racing & family crews.

We have trained over 5000 crew (as of Aug 2015)

These crews include Clipper Ventures Round The World, Solent Regattas, Fastnet, Sydney Hobart and Cork week, to name a few.

Yacht Brokerage

So, in 2015 we have expanded into yacht broking, using our marine expertise to benefit you. Whether finding a buyer for your boat, or finding the right boat for you, our approach is tenacious, discreet and governed by the ABYA strict code of Practice. All our transactions are completed with attention to detail, legally and ensuring absolute security.

The Co-founders

Our Principal Instructor Andy, is a former Training Officer with the Royal Naval Survival School and was responsible for training seaman & aircrew, (military and civilian), in all aspects of survival at sea. He is an RYA Yachtmaster, an RYA Power Boat Instructor & a qualified Marine Surveyor as well as owing boats for a number of years.

The other founder Cliff, has attended The ABYA Practical Yacht Broker course and adheres to their strict code of practice, he is an RYA Instructor (First Aid & Sea Survival), an RYA Coastal Skipper (with Yachtmaster theory), a boat owner for over 25 years, a BSAC Scuba Diving & boat handling instructor and regularly crews for off shore teams.

We both love and own Classic Cars as well, but don’t hold that against us.

We help boating beginners to existing enthusiasts as well as corporate owners. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver the highest quality of service to everyone – whatever their requirements.
